BASIC INFORMATION: This house dates back to the late 17th Century.
In all probability it was part of the original Jesuit-Settlement.
This explains the central location to the City-Park, the mighty church
and the Mayor Office.
LOCATION: In the Northeast of Bolivia - in the growing City of Magdalena which is the capital of the Province of Itenez. The new road allows Buses, Trucks and private vehicles in the dry season easy access to Magdalena. In addition there are most of the time daily flights with Air Taxis, Private Planes and Charter Flights. The house is within easy walking distance to the Regional Airport as well as to the River "Itonama" and is very near to all shopping facilities. At the moment a large district Hospital is under construction in Magdalena that will not only give the City itself but the entire region considerable growth impulses.
FURNISHING: The house has been repeatedly restored and just recently a new roof has been put on. Itis completely furnished with love to details.The ground floor contains the living room with table, chairs and a couch with coffee table. A solid wood stairway leads to the gallery that can be used as a computer corner or for an additional bed. The bedroom downstairs has besides two separete beds a built in closet and a separate laundry chest. The kitchen is relatively small, but functional and contains a stove with baking oven, pots and pans, a number of kitchen utensils, dishes and silverware, all included. There ist also a refrigerator and a fan. Toilette and shower are western standart and are functional.
SICE: Hard to believe that one finds so much room on a piece of property that measures 576 m2. This house offers a lot of living quality inside and out. A garden with a patio that is constructed with tiles offers additional living space and is ideal for parties and smaller receptions.
TECHNICAL INSTALLATIONS: Besides electrical current from the town there is an installed solar panel that feed for lamps in case of emergency. The water tank holds 1000 litres and guarantees optimal water resources. This water tank also feeds a small hot water reservoir that operates also on solar enregy. In the back of the property there is a convenient tool shed and a storage room.
LIVING COSTS: they are unusually low -in Bolivia in general and in Magdalena in particular. The taxes for the house are only about US$ 30.-- per year. First class beef can be bought for US$ 1.50 per Kilo. With US$ 300.-- per person and month a good western living standart can be achieved.
